Master's Program in Statistics

The SUNY Korea Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics offers an MS program in Statistics. Unlike most other graduate programs in statistics, this program emphasizes applied statistics and data science.

The Master of Science degree in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics requires the satisfactory completion of at least 30 graduate credits in letter-graded (A, B, C, F) courses, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Below are the required courses for the MS Statistics track.

Required Core Courses

  • AMS 507 Introduction to Probability
  • AMS 510 Analytical Methods for Applied Mathematics and Statistics
  • AMS 570 Mathematical Statistics I
  • AMS 572 Data Analysis
  • AMS 573 Design and Analysis of Categorical Data
  • AMS 578 Regression
  • AMS 580 Statistical Learning or AMS 586 Time Series Analysis
  • AMS 597 Statistical Computing
