Requirements for Declaration of AMS Double Major or Transfer to AMS
Students who entered SUNY Korea after Fall 2018 (including Fall 2018) should follow the new requirements
Grades of B- or better in linear algebra (AMS 210 or MAT 211) and multivariable calculus (AMS 261 or MAT 203 or MAT 205),
AAn overall GPA of 2.8 or better in all attempts of calculus (AMS 151, AMS 161, AMS 261 – Applied Calculus I, II, and III) and AMS 210 (Applied Linear Algebra).
At most one of the courses in calculus (Applied calculus I, II, III, A, B, C) and Applied linear algebra may be repeated, and
Completion of course evaluations for all transferred courses that are to be used to meet requirements of the major.
Declaration of AMS Double Major or Transfer to AMS
If you are interested in double major in AMS with other program, then do the following. Check whether you meet the AMS major requirements. The major requirements are given above.
After submission, there may be an interview with the Chair before final approval.
If you are interested in transferring to AMS from other program, then do the following. Check whether you meet the AMS major requirements. The major requirements are given above.
Complete your personal information in the top table
In the bottom (big) table, fill out the first row as follows: First major (AMS), Check "DECLARE"
You may receive an email from the Academic Affairs Office during the break regarding transferring, follow the instructions in that email and submit the form accordingly.
After submission, an interview with the Chair may be required before final approval.
Please note that even if you meet all the eligibility requirements, transferring admission to the AMS major may be denied depending on the number of available openings.
