Requirements for Declaration of AMS Double Major or Transfer to AMS
Students who entered SUNY Korea after Fall 2018 (including Fall 2018) should follow the new requirements
Grades of B- or better in linear algebra (AMS 210 or MAT 211) and multivariable calculus (AMS 261 or MAT 203 or MAT 205),
An overall GPA of 2.8 or better in all attempts of calculus (calculus I, II, III, A, B, C) and linear algebra,
At most one of the courses in calculus (calculus I, II, III, A, B, C) and linear algebra may be repeated, and
Completion of course evaluations for all transferred courses that are to be used to meet requirements of the major.
Declaration of AMS Double Major or Transfer to AMS
If you are interested in double major in AMS with other program, then do the following. Check whether you meet the AMS major requirements. The major requirements are given above.
Complete your personal information in the top table.
In the bottom (big) table, leave the first row, and fill out the second row as follows
Second major (AMS), Current first major ( ), Check "DECLARE"
Submit it to AMS Chair in B519.
After getting approval from the Chair, submit it to the Academic Affairs office.
If you are interested in transferring to AMS from other program, then do the following. Check whether you meet the AMS major requirements. The major requirements are given above.
